Heri ya Krisimas!

Here's a peek of my class at our school recitation on December 17th.  I hope you enjoy hearing God's truth from his precious children.  Their voices and faces will forever been engraved in my mind when I hear these verses.  I'm also adding a slide show of pictures from the past few weeks so that you can glimpse how we are celebrating the birth of Christ in Tanzania!

All in a Name

Last Friday we had a recitation to complete the 2010 school year.  I found it interesting that without any coordinating each class presentation had something to do with growth.  The preprimary one class sang a song called "Grow Grow Grow."  The preprimary two class (my class) recited Luke 2:8-23 and then sang a song about plant parts (flower, stem, leaves, and roots).  The kindergartners sang about the fruit of the Spirit.  The progression of songs was meaningful as well.
First : growth
Next: flowers
Last: fruit
Growth is an ongoing theme in my life.  It begins with God planting seeds.  As the seeds take root, the growth is invisible to our eyes, but not for long.  Soon enough a sprout comes up, followed by a flower, maybe fruit, and eventually pruning.
After five months of serving in Tanzania, I've realized that a blog may be the best way for you to experience the seeds God is planting and nurturing.  May God plant something purposeful in your life as you prepare for Christmas.
